Darin Mowery
Head Instructor and Academy Owner, Darin Mowery, brings more than a decade of Jiu-Jitsu experience to the Academy. He began his Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2010, drawn to its real-world effectiveness and direct application to his work in law enforcement. With a strong commitment to safety and empowerment, Darin completed the Gracie Instructor Certification Program in 2013 and is certified to teach all core programs: Gracie Bullyproof, Gracie Combatives, Master Cycle, and Gracie Survival Tactics Levels 1 and 2 for law enforcement.
Darin now trains under Professor Regis Lebre of Lebre Jiu-Jitsu San Diego, a black belt under Master Royler Gracieand a decorated Pan American and Gracie Worlds champion. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University and brings decades of martial arts experience to the mat, including a Third Degree Black Belt in Ed Parker’s American Kenpo. As a former Arizona POST Defensive Tactics Instructor, Darin is passionate about teaching both kids and adults how to defend themselves with confidence, discipline, and control.
Known for his approachable teaching style, technical precision, and emphasis on safe, effective training, Coach Darin is dedicated to helping students of all ages build skills that translate both on and off the mat.
